National Nutrition Month 2023

National Nutrition Month® is an annual campaign created 50 years ago in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits

This year's theme is "Fuel for the Future." Eating with sustainability in mind is a tasty way to nourish ourselves during every phase of life and protect the environment. A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist can help you create healthy habits that are sustainable and celebrate your unique needs.

Registered Dietitian Day

In 2023, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics celebrates Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day on Wednesday, March 8. As the nation's food and nutrition experts, registered dietitian nutritionists are committed to improving the health of their patients, clients and communities. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day and National Nutrition Month® promote the Academy and RDNs to the public and the media as the most valuable and credible source of timely, scientifically-based food and nutrition information.

This year, we're celebrating the first Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered Day on Thursday, March 9. Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs) provide nutrition education and guidance to consumers about making healthy lifestyle choices, work in the public and private sectors creating and managing nutrition related programs, systems, and activities, and work with Registered Dietitians (RDs) to provide medical nutrition therapy to patients.
